Hey guys,
just wondering if you can recommend a good value hair repair treatment that works, my hair is quite dry with split ends, im using gliss repair shampoo and conditioner at the moment which makes it really soft for a day but then after that it goes dry again so just need something that is longer lasting or that will fully repair the ends without me getting them cut, ive used hot oils in the past but it didnt do much so anything you have tried and tested would love to hear about, thank you!

I use Aveda products but not the cheapest but they do some good deep treatments. However to keep costs down, the best "cheap" hair treatment I've used is John Frieda Miraculous recovery. It's in a tub. It's very good.
Alternatively if you want to keep the costs down, why not apply a small amount of hair serum to your hair when it's dry. I do this too and it certainly helps with the split ends.0 -
Have you tried the gliss hair repair spray?,
If I use it (I spray it on damp hair - dry it and spray again and then straighten and spray again) My hair is loverly and soft and manageable.
Its about £1.29 from home bargains and shops like that
Im not without it now, and it was my hairdresser who mentioned it to me.
I also use the gliss shampoo but the purple one - I think its either Thai or Asia (cant remember the name of the top of my head) which I bought in the £shop0 -
oooh thanks a lot
ill be buying the John Frieda Miraculous recovery tub and the gliss hair repair spray and see how it goes thanks a lot, ill try the serum too, i have some by avon but im not keen on it as its too thick so ill try and get a better one, and ill keep an eye out for the purple gliss shampoo then if its in the pound shop as thats where i get my usual gliss shampoo and conditioners xx0 -
You can't 'repair' split ends.
A good treatment for your hair generally is the Aubrey Organics honeysuckle Rose conditioner and the protein conditioner by the same company. I buy mine online £10.50 a bottle but it lasts for ages. Sounds like your hair needs protein to be honest. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
I got the White Tsubaki hair conditioner from a seller on eBay.
It's pricey, but even with below the waist length hair, I just need about a tablespoonful. I tried the shampoo too, which is lush, again only need a teaspoon of it, but if I had to choose one thing, it would be the conditioner.

My hair feels and looks really amazing after using it. Better than some hair salon treatments!0 -
I have a similar problem, my hair is so dry than it's full of static everytime I dry it, but I can't use conditioners as it gets greasy in less than 24h....
I've checked the John Frieda stuff and it's full of silicones.. so that's a no-no!! I guess the Gliss hair repair is the same
Might try the Aubrey product..0 -

I use a totally silicone free routine, the aubrey products are very good. I know a lot of people who use them. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
I agree with the fact that you can't mend split ends- just try and "cover it up" with products or even better, trimming the ends to promote growth and healthier looking hair.
I'd suggest getting a conditioning treatment via a salon. I've seen that they do keratin ones now but I've not tried them personally. I did try a normal conditioning treatment by a hair college salon and it made my hair really silky. It feels a lot healthier.
Alisha- I'd advise using dry shampoo sprays for your roots to stop them getting greasy and still use leave-in conditioning spray at the ends. I'd also recommend getting a conditioning treatment done in a salon.0 -
Aubrey organics have an offer on atm when you buy the honeysuckle rose shampoo and conditioner together.
Put your hair in a high pony tail and coat the pony tail with warmed coconut oil, wrap it in a bun and leave overnight. This really helps my ends when they're dry. Rubbing a tiny bit of oil (not coconut, something that's liquid at room temp) into the ends of dry hair smoothes them really well.Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0
