BHS Wedding Dresses

Options
Do BHS stores (the ones that stock the wedding collection) actually have wedding dresses to try on/buy in store or are they only available online?

I went in store a few weeks back to look at bridesmaid dresses but never noticed if they had wedding dresses there!

Yes the metrocentre store has wedding dresses to try and take away. It may depend on the store size.
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....

The one on Oxford Street in London has them.... just saw you're in Yorkshire so that's not much use! I haven't seen them in any other stores but they must be...

They stock them in some stores, when you search for a store you can select if they have a wedding department.

I've used that and it does state that my local store has a wedding department, but I can't say I've noticed any wedding dresses when I've been in the department! But saying that, I wasn't looking for bridal lol

I rang my local BHS store to see if they did and they were completely honest and said their wedding section is very small and they basically have one size 8, 10, 12 etc and thats it. Not a variety of dresses. You basically go in, find out what size you are and then order your dress online. This might just be the Norwich store, who knows!

The Manchester store had a few that you could try on - even if one style was'nt available in say ivory there was a similar bridesmaid coloured dress that you could try on for size etc.
We were told that certain styles were online only.
The only faff is if you have to return it - if it is sent to your home address and you have ordered it online then you have to return it and wait for it to be checked before they refund you.
If you ordered it via a store whether to be delivered to the store or to your home address - you have to return to the store to get your refund even if the goods are couriered or posted back - a bit of a faff if you are miles away!!
But the quality is commendable and the staff know their stuff - well at least in Manchester they did!!

Off to have a nosey today, but a bit miffed as one dress I had my eye on (Arabella I think) has been removed from the website :(

In fact, just had a look now and the other dress I wanted to look at (Josephine) has also been removed. I hope this is just because they are out of stock due to the sale and not because they are no longer selling them! Thankfully, I still have 16 months to go :)

I've just been looking at bridesmaid dresses by colour and both dresses are still on there, just in limited sizes

Well they had sod all in there! No wedding dresses at all. Which means I'd have to buy to try on which I don't wanna do. Oh well, back to the drawing board :(
