Hi
I received a default on my credit file from O2 for a £10 debit i was unaware of, is there anyway of removing this, also if you have a default on your file do you automatically get a poor rating or can my rating be improved in anyway, am looking to move house and re-mortgage soon!|!!!
Thanks
Lisa

Whether you are likely to be able to get it removed will depend on the circumstances and whether you actually did default on an agreement with them.
With a default on your file then this will be on file for 6years from the date of default - and it will have a serious impact on you ability to get credit. How much of an impact will depend on the age of the default and the amount.
It won't necessarily be impossible to get a new mortgage (assuming the default shows as having been paid) but you are likely to find it much harder. Whilst a potential lender will be able to see its only for £10, some will still automatically decline just because the default is there.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
