Reheating chicken in slow cooker

I have a massive chicken in the freezer which I am going to defrost and cook for lunch on Sunday. However, there will be loads left and as I am working on Monday, wondered whether I could turn some leftovers into a casserole using the slow cooker.
Anyone any idea whether this will be OK, I don't really fancy salmonella

I would not reheat chicken in a slow cooker ever.
You stand a very high risk of giving yourself a right dose of salmonella at the very least.
Either use the leftovers cold within a day or two or chop it up and use it in a stir fry or something that you know has got really hot.

Yes this should be ok i do this every week.
But i would eat all the casserole on monday it's not a good idea to heat it up again.
That's the advice i kindly got when i asked last week.0 -
I always use a thermometer to ensure gets to correct temperature if being reheated. One day I might be more organised...........

Thanks for the replies - I am always reheating chicken, but wan't sure whether it was safe in a slow cooker.
I think I'll give the slow cooker a miss, stick it in a sauce and reheat it on the hob. You're only young once, but you can be immature forever0
