Which Tuna?

Hi all,
Just a quickie...
Which tuna do I need to buy for tuna mayo with sweetcorn as a jacket potato filling? Oil, brine or springwater? Flakes, chunks or steaks?
I know it sounds stupid but do I just drain it and mix it with the sweetcorn and mayo or do I need to 'rinse' the tuna somehow?
Think I'll try John West first as it's the first time I'll have made it and I'm a bit funny with fish!
Thanks,
Kevin

Hiya I use the chunks in spring water, they taste lovely and you get a lovely consistency. Flakes I wouldnt really bother with them, they are more for making sandwiches withHas anyone seen my last marble:A:A:A:A

Slightly OT but where is tuna on the ethical stakes now? Which are the most ethical brands to buy?I wanna be in the room where it happens0

As OP says, just drain the tuna regardless of what it is in - don't rinse! Just mix with mayo and sweetcorn.
You could use any tuna, but as said above flakes tends to really be best in sandwiches.
From an ethical point of view I like to buy Sainsbury's basics as it states on the label it is pole and line caught.0 -

Or olive oil, it just adds a certain something to the taste. We find that Lidl do cheapish tins of sunflower and olive oil tuna chunks. If any of you go to France on day trips, then stock up on supermarket own brand tuna in olive oil, it is cheaper than here and an unbelievable taste.0 -

Definitely the ones which cause least injury to the consumer when opening the tin:o
Seriously? Go for line caught tuna, because that means only tuna are caught and kept, other varieties are returned immediately.
If it wa truly ethical, then the fishermen would be getting paid a decent wage for catching these fish.;)0 -

Love this, deffinelty agree about safe opening of tin, and more than support fishermen receiving a decent wage.Slimming World at target0 -
we have an older thread about which tuna people buy - with recent contribution. Can't work out if that sentence is gramatically correct or not.....
It's alol down to personal taste. I get the stuff in brine - the stuff in oil makes me sick - bleugh *insert sick smiley*
Drain it, and mix with sweetcorn and mayo to your taste, bit of black pepper is nice too again if to your taste
