Nationwide remortgage with 1 late payment

Hi all, long time lurker here. Currently on Halifax SVR which is due to go up to 3.99% soon, so looking at possibly moving to another lender for a 5yr fix or low tracker.
I've been self employed for 7 years, do my own accounts so can only provide SA302s, not certified accounts. Earnt 38k net profit last two years, 22k the year before that. Remaining mortgage amount is 76k on property worth 110k (bought for 120k in late 2006 in the north west, had conservatory fitted, new windows & doors etc, so this should be a conversative estimate of current value). That hopefully gives me around 69% LTV.
I have credit card debts of 10k (all on 0%), but I will be paying 50% of these off in the next few months.
I _thought_ I had a clean credit record, but on checking I had one single late payment in Jan 2008 with a catalogue company.
I've banked with Nationwide for 15 years, and am looking at their current product range, but from what I've read on here I would need a squeeky clean record as they are being very selective at the moment.
What do you think of my chances with getting a Nationwide mortgage? Will a single late payment from 2008 affect my chances?

Thanks, The J. Hope so!
Do you think it's wise to pay down the 50% on the 0% cards before applying (will take two months)? (and waiting till they show as paid on credit reports of course).
With rates seemingly on the rise despite BOE rate not rising, I'm just eager to get on a new deal.0
