Nationwide FTB jitters

Hi everybody, long time lurker 1st time poster. Me and my wife applied for a 5yr fix with nationwide through Countrywide brokers on 24th March. Survey was done on the 30th. We have a 30% deposit on a 125k house. We haven't heard anything since and the broker seems more interested in signing us up for income/sickness protection policies. I appreciate nobody can tell me how long the process takes but we are feeling quite nervous.
My broker has also asked to see details of my current ASU policy, would Nationwide require this?
Calm my nerves please,
Tom.

Not sure how long Nationwide is taking at the moment, but seeing that the housing market is pretty flat, it shouldn't be too long. I'm sure others will be along to give an opinion. However, in general, moving is rather stressful, so try not to overdo it in general and get a bit of rest in the evenings and some reasonably early nights. I'm sure you could give your broker another ring soon.

Unusual not to have heard anything from Nationwide in this time frame. Call the broker and ask when the offer is likely to be issued?
No, Nationwide will not require to see your ASU policy however the broker is probably looking to see that it is sufficient and whether it needs to be improved (by him clearly). The J is a Financial Advisor-This site doesn't check anyone's status and as such any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as financial advice. Classic Countrywide!
Nationwide dont have any interest in your ASU policy.
If you want to get him off your back, just agree to everything he suggests, say you want it on force when you exchange contracts on the new house, then cancel the Direct Debits before they start.
Then let a Broker who has your best interest in heart discuss what options you have and what is best for you, who will then let you make an informed decision on what you want rather than pressuring you and lying about the Lender requiring policy details from you!

Thanks for the info people. I'll give him a ring today. I only went with him because he seemed really helpful/keen but now he's really hard to get hold of.
Thanks,

Update:
I have received a text this morning from Nationwide:
"Nationwide is pleased to inform you that a mortgage offer has been issued."
Hopefully i'll get the offer in the post this week.
I still haven't been able to speak to the broker as apparently he is on "training."
Thanks,

Knowing the CW training programs there are several training programs he could be on that would take this long.
For a laugh, when he finally calls back tell him that as you couldnt get hold of him you went to a local IFA and reviewed your protection, you took Life or earlier CIC and full Income protection on an increasing basis until your retirement.
Just imagining his face hearing that is making me laugh!!! hahahaI am a Mortgage Adviser

Broker has finally rang me. Mortgage offer is in the post but he needs me to "come in and review a few things."
He wouldn't elaborate but again asked to see my ASU policy details.
Also, the vendors solicitor is being extremely slow to reply to anything. Is there anything I can do to get them to quicken up?
Thanks,
