Boots have some amazing deals on Sonicare toothbrushes. I had been saving up for a £70 model but noticed that more expensive £99 model (Elite 7300) had been reduced to £66.99. I went to the till and to my surprise the toothbrush scanned at £33.99! The receipt shows the toothbrush as £66.99 but there is another entry on the receipt showing save £33.
I also picked up some spare heads, usually one costs £15 but these were also reduced to £12 each. However, when it was scanned at the till it came up as buy 2 get one free. I bought six in all and it came to £15?! The receipt shows total before savings £36, save £12 on the 3 for 2 plus save £9 (no reason given), receipt total £15. So cheap I had to buy another 3 heads!
I mentioned the cheap toothbrushes to my mum who asked me to get her one with some heads. I bought the same toothbrush (Elite 7300 model HX7351) but this time they only had twin packs of spare heads (usually £25 each), these were scanning at £15 each (but were marked as £20), again buy 2 get 1 free. According to the shelf price the toothbrush plus 3 twin packs of heads should cost £66.99 plus £60 for heads = £126.99, instead it only cost £58.99. I can't figure out how this discount worked as the receipt shows total before savings £126.99 then 3 for 2 discount, save £20 and a random save £48 discount. This means I saved £68 and spent £58.99.
The whole thing has left me very confused but according to all the receipts my total spend today was £265.98 but I only actually spent £122.98 - total saving £143!?
One point to note I think the only toothbrush that is significantly discounted is the elite 7300 but I would get all of them scanned as I didn't have time to check all the different models.

I can explain.
This model is being phased out and will be redundant as soon as the newer version comes out - that of being http://www.intellicleansystem.com/ which is a complete redesign with a unique way of toothpaste application - I myself own the Elite 7500 which I get at 80 a pop from my dentist, still a great toothbrush, but not even close to being as cool as the new intelliclean one.0 -
I checked out the Inteliclean toothbrush - it sounds very similar to the Philishave with Nivea - a regular electric razor which squirts Nivea. Inteliclean looks like a regular Sonicare toothbrush which squirts Crest. I imagine the toothpaste cartridges will be pricey. I'll stick to my £33.99 Sonicare toothbrush and a tube of toothpaste for now (beside the manual says it's the 'sonic waves' that do the cleaning, not the toothpaste)0

I got charged £66.99 for the 7351 model - shall I take it back and look for it cheaper elsewhere ?0

Im gutted as i wasted 2 hours 30mins, walking to boots and back and they scanned it for me £66.99 like the shelf said! How dissapointed was I! Where did you buy it from? I told them i knew someone who got it for £33.99 and they said it must have been an error, next time can you confirm it works first.
Thanks for the post anyway!0 -
Think you got lucky on this one chococat. Took a walk to my local Boots today it scanned at 66.99. So I queried the price and told them your user name on the MSE forums, they said they are going to try and trace you
Must admit the boots 'operative' was very good and tried her best to see if she could reduce it! When that failed she asked her manager who told her that all prices were sent from headoffice and if thats what it scanned for that would be the correct price.
Thanks anyway, I'll keep me yellow teeeeefff! The early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.0 -
Yip, I ventured down to check the price too...scanned at £66.99 but it did have the 3 for 2 offer on it. Perhaps might be able to ebay the other 2, i didnt bother trying. too much hassle.0

I bought the toothbrushes from Boots in Warrington at the Gemini retail park. I'd scan the receipts in but I'm away from home until Tuesday. Sorry you guys didn't get the same offer.0
