Original Credit Agreements

Morning all,

I have searched for some info on this but I can't find anything... I've had a letter this morning from Lowell Portfolio claiming I owe £425 to Dollar Financial.... I've never heard of them!! I'm guessing they've written this letter to me on the back of me requesting my credit file. Which they are not mentioned on at all!!

So I want to send them an email requesting a credit agreement that I've signed.... is there a template I should use? What happens if they can't provide one?

Thanks in advance for any help xx

https://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk has templates of tonnes of letters to send to creditors. If they can't provide the original signed agreement then they can't chase you for the debt as they can't prove it's yours.

Sounds very fishy to me... Would certainly ask for a copy of the signed agreement, as something doesn't quite add up!

Here's the letter, send it recorded delivery with a £1 cheque or postal order.

    Dear Sir/Madam

    Re:− Account/Reference Number 4563210025897412

I do not acknowledge any debt to your company.

Therefore, with reference to the above alleged agreement, I am now formally requesting a copy of the credit agreement as I am entitled to under the Consumer Credit Act 1974 (Sections 77−79). I enclose a payment of £1.00 which represents the fee payable under the Consumer Credit Act.

I understand a copy of this credit agreement should be supplied to me within 12 working days.

I look forward to hearing from you.

    Yours faithfully
