Income multiples joint applications

Been looking to remortgage but am very confused by the income multiples they seem to vary drastically also does it make a difference if you have more equity etc? Who are the lenders willing to lend in higher multiples for couples? Thanks

Not as simple as straight multiples. Affordability increases dramatically as income increases. .

It's not that straightforward. Most lenders will be prepared to consider 4x joint incomes. However, a lower loan to value will go in your favour, but credit commitments and financial dependents will count the other way.
