Temporary employment & mortgage?

We're first time buyers and are confused about whether we would qualify for a mortgage at the moment or not. We could afford the repayments, but not sure if we'd get one in the first place.
The house we're looking at is £180,000 and we have a £20,000 deposit.
My partners income is £32,000 per year. I usually earn a similar salary but was recently made redundant. I'm now doing temp work earning around £12,000, whilst I look for another 'proper' job.
Would lenders take my income into consideration or dismiss it because it's a temporary contract?
If so, once I get a permanent job would the contract be enough or would they only consider us once I had passed the 3 month probation period outlined in most contracts?
Thanks!

Some lenders will consider this achievable, although would get yourself a broker.
Any breaks in temp work will hurt you, a permanent job offer could also be used with certain banks.
