In terms of highstreet lenders, Halifax are the most lenient. Santander and Natwest are not really lending at the moment. Nationwide are selective, as are First Direct and HSBC.
A local building society may prove a suitable alternative...
How is the co-operative bank?
There BoE tracker mortgages look very competitive indeed, but are they lending okay at the moment?0 -
Not had huge experience with them of late, have always been ok but obviously of late they have increased mortgage share and therefore may be a bit slower..
Also, they may have their eye off the ball as their focus is elsewhere I would imagine...I am a Mortgage Broker

Some mortgage companies don't credit check... I know the Cambridge Building Society who we are with didn't do a credit check for our application.
I'm sure there must be others... My advise would be to contact a mortgage advisor; they offer loads of free help and can help to get your case pushed through a lot quicker.... They get commission from the lender so you don't pay them a fee... Just don't go to the ones that request a fee.0 -
So my survey with the Woolwich is booked in for Wednesday.
Can I start to relax about them deciding to change their minds and refuse the mortgage - they surely wouldnt arrange the survey, and then decide that information I have already presented to them makes me too high risk. Would they?0 -

Any idea how long its likely to take Woolwich to receive the results and issue a formal offer?
And once I have a formal mortgage offer, am I then home and dry?0 -
