Intimidating creditors

Hi everyone

I just need some confirmation if I may. My husband and I filed for bankruptcy at the beginning of this month and we are awaiting the ORs call on monday. In the meantime my husband has had a visit at home from one of the managers from greenwoods (one of his debts) to see what was happening with his account as he hasnt being paying it. We rang them the day after court to tell them what had happened as we were due a visit from the agent to take payment and the call handler took all the details and said that they would close the file. Two days later our agent called so my husband explained again and gave her all the details. Then this visit out of the blue whilst I am at work. I am absolutley furious as my husband suffers from bad depression and cant deal with confrontation like this he said he felt very intimidated. He is already whlst trying to deal with this BR dealing with the fact that DWP have moved him onto IR esa from CR esa and his payments have stopped as I work.
My question is can they do this without former warning of a visit and am I within my rights to call him on monday when I am off work and politely tell him to go and whistle as we dont have to communicate with him the OR will be doing that. Can I demand a formal apology to the way he intimidated my husband and bullied his way into the house?
My husband has been reminded not to let anyone in if they are not a court bailiff and/or with the police but he cant cope with this
Sorry for the rambling post but I am absolutely furious

well anyone can come an knock on your door, they are not strictly breaking the law by doing that, but obviously they cant demand money of you as you should have the protection of bankruptcy, as with everything having a right and enforcing it are different things, in the this case probably the best thing to do is to ring your OR explain what you have done so far (ie told them 3 times) and ask the OR to give them a ring and remind them that the debt is covered by the bankruptcy and they can nolonger collect it.

also just to point out that the protection exists from the day of the bankruptcy order but the OR probably wont have formally written to the creditors yet

Thanks for the reply debt info

I did expect some hassle off my debts but I just find the way this manger has dealt with my husband is appaling. Surely after being told by us numerous times re bankruptcy and given numbers ect they should give a period of grace for OR to ring. I am aware that some unscrupulous people may try to avoid paying debt by claiming bakruptcy when they havent actually done it but it is easily checked on register which I have checked myself and we are defo on there listed as bankrupt

Sorry to rant on I am just so annoyed (well furious) that they would try to intimidate my husband like that

Thank you for your help and I will let OR know on Monday

Try not to take it personally, there is nothing special about you idividually and nothing that makes it sound like you are not telling the truth, they are just money grabbing creditors who are making one last grab to get something before they officially get told so they can play innocent later, " who me, well i wouldnt have tried to collect if i knew they were bankrupt"
