Just paid £1882 to Tesco bank which is my 4yr loan paid off 18months early which is a monthly saving of £122
That along with getting my credit card debt sorted I'm finally seeing some light at the end of the tunnel..... My credit card balances on 1st Jan 2012 were sat at £6150.
I managed to open a new Halifax credit card with a credit limit of £4800 which has an introductory offer of 0% balance transfer for 22months.
I managed to raise about £1500 through selling stuff on eBay and pay off a small chunk through earnings getting the balance down to around £4000 which I transferred to the new Halifax card.
So now, my credit card debt is all on one card with no accumulating interest and the plan is to chizzle away at that for the rest of the year and by christmas I'm hoping it will be all paid off which will be a great christmas present
Why all the debt? ...University; it's nearly 5 years after I graduated (June 2007) and I'm so close to being back in the black! It's been a good 8 years of struggles over debt. was uni worth it? ...YES!

Well done; my son was saying only the other day how expensive that cheap midweek beer was at the promotion nights everyone went to, given that he was borrowing through his student loan to drink it. He too enjoyed his uni days to the max, as a middle aged parent bereft of current street lingo might say.
Can I be the first to wish you a Happy Christmas, in anticipation of your upcoming success?0 -
Thanks all :-) Good luck to everyone else struggling away to get rid of debt!
I'll try to update this thread accordingly,0
