What is people's opinion in entering these kind of 'family' comps without kids?

Are you asking if you'd be disqualified if you won and they found out you didn't have kids to take with you? I think that would be down to the discretion of the company running the comp/providing the prize. If it's a prize you really want then it's probably worth entering and worrying about the repercussions if you actually win it. I've only got one child but I'd like to think I wouldn't be disqualified if I won on the grounds I haven't got round to having another yet :D

If you're asking morally about entering a competition that's aimed at families when you're just an individual/couple, that really is a personal decision that you can only make for yourself and that would no doubt attract a variety of opinions on here. I have no judgement :)

I'd wondered about this before. I mostly don't enter ones with kids unless it's something I *really* want. If a child is part of the terms then I'll take my brother or give it to my mum (if possible). As Caramel79 said, I can worry about the repercussions if I actually win.

This one for example I won't enter because spending a few nights in a tepee isn't something I'd be that interested in.

I nearly always don't enter comps that are for families, even though it's often something I would love, like winning a holiday to any of the Disney Theme Parks.

There might be a rare exception if it was a prize I could really use that just happened to be offered from a family magazine or site, but even then, I wouldn't if it meant having to lie or pretend to have kids.

However, I also wouldn't be upset with anyone for deciding differently. It's a personal choice.

  • My biggest gripe with these comps for a family holiday is that almost always they cannot be taken in school holidays.

I am greatful to the posters for finding and posting the comps - :A would just like it if comp organisers took note of the fact that we will be fined for taking our kids out of school.

Thanks though for posting and letting me have a little rant - end of school hols and i a little jaded I think :rotfl:
