If I was you, I wouldn't waste my time or money. I bought two the other night after reading Martin's weekly saving email as they were only £49 in Asda, I bought one for myself and one intended as a present and there is no way I'm giving the other as a present.
It is painfully and frustratingly slow and whenever I download a book it says 'content locked' so I can't read anything! I will definitely be getting a refund and probably go down the Kindle route. Honestly it's not worth it in my eyes.0 -
i have a kobo touch and have had no problems with it at all0

Another vote for the Kobo Touch. I got mine from e-bay for £60. Screen refresh rate/page turns are fine.
I can also "loan" digital books from my library. No Links in Signatures by Site Rules - MSE Forum Team 20 -
i bought kobo ereader ( not touch) for my daughter just as a gimic to encourage her to read - i find it slow to page turn as i have an iphone but she loves it and its really just a momentary flicker - also is it cheaper to download books from amazon? ive been looking up how to convert once downloaded but im not sure you can buy from amazon without having a registered kindle account first.i bought mine from whsmiths.0

You can manage all your book format's with a management system ie change from kindle to pdf etc I use Calibre. http://calibre-ebook.com/download
I have the iriver from WH Smiths I got it on ebay with a leather cover for £50 delivered from the WH Samuel shop it has wifi and email etc I totally love it. I think it was about £240 in store.0
