First Time Buyers - Fixed Term Contract

Morning all,

I have no clue where to start.

I am currently in a fixed term contract for 12 months and my boyfriend is in a perment job. We are looking to hopefully buy next year. I know me being on FTC will affect the intrest rate available to make it higher. Just wondering if anyone had suggestions on who is good to approach? Or should I wait until I secure permentant work? We would like to get on the market whilst things are cheaper!

Permanent contract would be easier.

If you were in another contract prior to starting this one that will help. If your employer will write a letter confirming your contract is likely to be extended that could also help but realistically you need track record of contracting or a lot of time left on the current contract.

House prices won't be going up quick any time soon.
