Hi everyone,

I thought I'd post and get some advice for getting a loan having just been rejected by Alliance & Leicester to avoid the rejection spiral.. Having been married last year and making the stupid decision to buy a car on a credit card rather than get a normal loan, I'm trying to obtain a loan to pay off some hefty 0% credit cards when they turn interestful.

This is my current status:

Current account 1: +£1000, overdraft available £3000
Current account 2: -£300, £1000 interest free overdraft, additional £750 non interest free

Credit card 1 (MBNA): £12,500/£14,000, interest free to end of April, £5/month
Credit card 2 (Amex): £1,400/£1,500, 14.9% interest (~£20/month interest/pay)
Credit card 3 (Amex): £800/£900, 25% interest (~£20/month interest/pay)
Credit card 4 (Amex: £400, plat charge card
Credit card 5 (M&S): £2,500 @ 3.9% lob (£60/month)
Credit card 6 (Natwest): £2,300/2,700, interest free until end of March, £50/month

This is my SOA:

Monthly incoming:
£2,410 after tax
£500/month from selling my car (starts this month, goes on for a year)

Monthly outgoings:
£1,200 rent - contract now finished, moving in with parents on 13th March, may look for a cheaper place after (budget £900 inc all bills and travel)
£100 council tax (all paid up)
£180 travel (2 x zone 1-2 travel cards)
£100 bills (mobile telephone, tv license, internet)
£250 food
£185 student loan
£150 credit card payments
£50 electricity/gas
£100 miscellnous

In addition I'll be getting a £5k bonus at the end of March on my paycheck and have to pay £1,700 in the next few weeks for school fees.

I've shifted a lot of money through credit cards in the last year and a half due to business expenses and have had one late payment on my file in september, which was a mistake and is now being rectified. Mycallcredit puts my score at 1230/1500 and credit rating at 4/5, waiting on the other agencies. I know I did some silly things with my credit, but trying to improve having talked to my banks and been told I couldn't get a loan in Dec (one rejection, one piece of advice).

I'm looking for £12,500 to cover the MBNA card asap to remove some worry, any advice would be fab. Is there any point appealing the A&L decision?

Sorry for long windedness,

Semantic
