London - clothing alterations/repairs?

Hi all,

I need a simple fix for a dress (straps) and I was wondering if anyone could recommend a clothing repairs/alterations service, preferably SW2/SW9 etc. but will also welcome suggestions in Central London..

I live in Bromley and am lucky to have a tailor around the corner but maybe try at your local dry cleaners as plenty do repairs. Alternatively look in local telephone book or google? HTH

You're in London, expect to pay silly money! It usually works out cheaper just to buy new gear. (good excuse too)

Most dry cleaners do simple repairs.. not sure how much it would cost though..if its just straps sounds simple enough.

Have you tried Zippystitch a clothing alterations company based in Bromley.

Have a look at their website for store locations. They even run sewing classes.

London is expensive. Try going to 2 or 3 different local dry cleaners/tailors and compare the prices
