Company pension - PLEASE HELP !!!

Hi all, I'm looking for advice.
I'm a 29yr old male, who has just found, by luck, the policy number of a company pension I started back in 2001/2002.
I have contacted AEGON today (was orignally with Scottish Equittable), and the value is £9300. I know my employer has a pension scheme in place, however I do not yet know if it is transferrable.
Obviously transferring is one of my possible options, but as far as I know, that is my one and only option.
Does anyone have a view on this (is a transfer to another pension scheme really my only option)?
What will happen if I can't transfer?
Any pointers to someone lacking any pension knowedge whatsoever??
Many thanks in advance for any comments or help, I appreciate your time

Other than leaving it where it is until age 55, then yes. What will happen if I can't transfer?
There will be no problem transferring, if not to the present company scheme but to another.
Whether this will be the right course of action will depend on the charges or guarantees attached.0
