Is a loan an option?

Ok I have a bad history due to an ex leaving me all our debts! I am just wondering if there are any companies that will lend me money with 2 CCJ's on my record? I would like to clear all debts and just have 1 with an end date on it to pay!

I did a search and was accepted for a small loan but was asked to pay £65 to prosess the application so figured it was a scam googled it and yes it was so thought I would ask here. Is there anyone who is legit that I can apply too?

Many thanks.

First of all, don't bother applying with these companies that require you to pay an upfront free. They don't give you a loan themselves, usually, but they'll find a broker to find you a loan. (Doubt they even do that) stay away from these companies

Unfortunately, you will NOT get any loans from any mainstream lender, not with 2 CCJ's sitting on your file. Also on your file i'm guessing that you've also have missed payments, defaults, etc on your file so this won't help. Also the existing debts vs your salary.

    Sorry my friend.
  • I have viewed one file and there are no missed payments etc as I have kept up repayment plans etc. I can't access the other file as I once had the 30 day trial and cancelled it and have since forgotten the log in and changed email addy so can not retrieve the info have tried re registering but it won't let me :-(

Are there any lenders that deal with people with CCJ's there must be someone even if it means high interest?

    Many thanks

  • How much do you need exactly,

how much debts do you owe, what is your annual income? do you have cc's, if so are they fully maxed out.

There's no main stream lender out there who would lend money to anyone with CCJ's/bad credit file.

There's a few you could try to get a loan with. Moneyshop, myhomefinance/street loan uk, citysave, you could have a pop at these, but don't have your hopes up too high.

The key question is, how much debts you have and what is your income? Can you afford to pay the monthly payments on these debts? If not, best option would be to go bankrupt.

How much are we talking about here ?

You do realise that high interest loans would take years to pay but that all depends on how much you want.

Cut back on any unnecessary spending, have a look at the debt free board, read some of the threads to get an idea what is asked of you and start a thread with your own SOA.
  • How does bancrupcy work? I can't see that it is the best option surely it stays with you forever?

Realistically £15000 would set me straight and I expect I would need a 2nd job just wanted to know if there are people out there who may help?

  • Hi
I recently applied for a loan from my bank (Santander) for £12k and was initially refused by the computer system; I then had to wait for a human to look at my application. Once they had looked at it they said I could have the loan but at 15% as opposed to the 6.8% advertised in the bank.

My wife and I have had a joint account with the bank for around 18 years, we have no credit cards, we have no other loans or outstanding credit or debt with any other banks or lender our credit score with Credit Expert is 999.

Can anybody tell me why the bank would do this and can anybody recommend another lender with a good rate who will lend to me?

I had this problem. I simply requested the £2 report rather than the credit expert crap.

Your lack of history is working against you. There is no evidence to show you as a good (low) risk.
Plenty of activity, all managed well and all well within your means is a good thing.

No history at all can be just as bad as bad history.
