The vast majority of posts reflect the truth. Most people who make contributions to a pension scheme are putting nowhere near enough away for a sustainable retirement.
Even a combined contribution of 15% of salary is going to lead to a retirement fund that is less than you'd like. But keep contributing.
I don't disagree with you that probably is the case for many - but keep in mind that many responses to this thread (including my own) detail only the "deal" our companies give us in terms of employer contributions (in response to the original question in the OP). That is not neccesarily the amount I - or others - are actually contributing to our pensions.0

Engineering company; they match contributions up to 7%.
I am actually contributing 11% (company 7%) as I started my pension a little late at 28, and because at the time of taking out the pension I had just freed up quite a bit of monthly salary by paying off my Student Loan.0

My companies' pension contribution was 19% of my total salary. My contribution was 3% i think. Its a FS scheme. Also salary sacrifice scheme. I guess they feel im worth it.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

Large IT systems integration company. 7% employer contribution if employee contributes a minimum of 3.5%. Salary sacrifice NI also passed on.0
