Be quick and help the Bees at the same time.
British bee numbers have fallen dramatically in recent years.
But we need bees. With other pollinating insects, they're vital to:
Our food supply - they pollinate most of our fruit and veg
Our economy - without bees costs for farmers would rise, pushing up food prices
Our quality of life - our gardens, parks and countryside

Thanks, there's a patch of scrub behind my garden and I keep meaning to plant bee-friendly plants there. I might actually put this in a tub in my garden though. I think I'll look at buying some of the meadow type seeds for the scrub land. Thanks for reminding me.0

Thanks for the tip off. Just ordered some
One of the best parts of summer is sitting in the garden watching and listening to the bees working away.
If anyone is looking for some unusual plants to attract the bees then try and get some echiumn seeds (ek e um) they are fab although be aware they self seed and you can end up with loads. Not such a bad thing mind you and very MSE as every year you get a new crop popping up somewhere else in the garden for free! The first year they grow about two foot and the second year the flower heads shoot and they can grow up to 15 ft!
