Hi, I have a friend who is turning 50 at the end of this month, I have been racking my brains for months and still have no idea what to get her! She is a busy mum of two, who gives up a lot of time for brownies/church etc. She likes cross stitch but does not have a lot of time to do it, also likes disneys tinkerbell
She is not really fashion mad doesn't really drink, help! I am thinking of a budget of £30 ish maybe a bit more for the perfect present, I can have a go at making stuff as well, thanks in advance.

Pop into a local charity and see if you can find a nice straw hat. Pop along to a motor parts shop and buy a tin of bright red car spray paint and spray the hat. Go onto the internet and print off Jenny Joseph's poem "When I am an Old Woman" pop it into a nice frame and give them both to her and then point her into the direction of the Red Hat Society. It's aimed at ladies of a certain age who like or would like to get out away from the home and family life and have some fun. Send her this link and tell her to go enjoy herself. That's how one of the biggest women's society started, it's world wide and coming to a town near you! It's nothing like the WI either, far from it. Be the kind of woman that when your feet hit the ground each morning the devil says, "OH CARP, SHE'S UP"! :whistle:0

Is she having a party for her 50th? What about getting her a personalised photo album as a keepsake of the day- search on ebay, there are some gorgeous ones for under £20 including postage. Photobox/Kodak/Pixum do gift certificates, you could include one in with the album. I'm 50 next year and I'd rather have something like this than bottles of alcohol/smellies etc.0

Hi thanks, that is something I had considered as my hubby is a bookbinder and makes leather albums, just not sure if he will have time at the moment

what about a treat for her as she gives a lot of time to others like afternoon tea at a posh hotel or a gift certificate for treatment of her choice at beauty therapists?:wall:Trying to get a grip :think:0
