I still don't understand why the link in the OP needs to be hidden.
If you think it's worth posting it at all, even as a courtesy, why not leave it visible?

I think it's worth posting if there is any chance at all of reducing the number of Dupes. Of course, using a "shortened" url (i.e. www.argos.co.uk) in searching would find the comp whichever full url was used but so few people seem to understand/know this. Personally I would only use 'argos' in my search as this eliminates the potential of .com or .co.uk duplicates. It may give more results than a full url but it doesn't take long to look down the list.

This isn't intended as a criticism of either view, just my opinion.
    Thanks for the comp Painkiller.

Probably just because it looks nicer/neater for them without a URL in the post, unless there's another colour scheme for the forum being used.

    Maybe so :-)
We all post in so many ways & even under a different user name most would spot mine & others.
Lots of us post in a slight " graphical/vanity" style as well that differentiates us from others on here.
It's a bit like a finger print of posting in a way eg some just post the link as: enter here etc or some post the link last eg here
  • BUT thank you for the chance to enter this comp. I will be donating a lot of the prize if I do win, probably to be auctioned to raise funds for the hospice I attend as they have had to cut nurses hours for day therapy or they would have had to close it altogether, NOT the hospice but the day therapy where we get so much just for a few hours a day, often giving those who need more care than I do a chance to get out of the house, or for their carers a lovely few hours to do what they want once a week.
There has been such a drop in donations it is getting harder for everything,
They do such wonderful work and always with a smile and we rarely leave without having had a laugh or three! Such a boost to our psyche! and laughter helps healing as we all know. :rotfl:
When you need a new home for that item or need something go to iLoveFreegle.org find your local group where everything is FREE Given Locally Easily.
