not all chopped tomatoes are the same, by the way, in terms of quality. Aldi's chopped tomatoes are 21p (not the chunky range, the normal range), their unchopped tomatoes are cheaper, but in both cases, when i've bought the Asda or Tesco value equivalent, i've found them to be much more watery. I can't remember how much the asda or tesco value equivalents are, but i do think its false economy - i try to stick to Aldi's, where i can.

I read somewhere to add a pinch of sugar to value tinned tomatoes to make them taste nicer. Always do this now - and they do taste much better.

Do love the Heinz ones - but only when they are BOGOF.

I took to using plum as well. If we need passata, pizza topping, anything I just get the hand blender out and give it a good whizz.
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

got to say the sauce on aldis is lovely and thick compared to tesco value.
Annoyed me no end that theyve shot up in price at tesco as has every other value range.Soon wont be worth buying the value range

I checked my local Lidl today and the unchopped tomatoes were 19p and the chopped ones were 21p. The last time I went to Lidl and bought some was about 6 months ago where I'm almost certain that the unchopped tomatoes were 13p and the chopped ones were 15p.
The Lidl ones are loads better than the Sainsburys Basics and the Tesco Value ones though having said that, it is possible that could ahve changed as I have not bought value tomatoes from Sainsburys or Tesco in well over a year, ever since I discovered the Lidl ones and also I found out about passata!:j
