Clinique - is it worth it?

Hi, I do like Clinique make up (some of it) and the skincare but the prices just seem to be getting steeper. Does anyone else use Clinique and think that its worth it?

My friend says she's giving up on Clinique as its getting too expensive yet she spends loads on facials and other things like that whereas I don't.

Depends how you find the product on your own skin. Clinique was the first brand of skincare I bought as a teenage, but I stopped using it in my early twenties because it's not been brilliant for my skin - the clarifying lotion is like nail varnish remover, and the dramatically different moisturiser aggravated my oily skin, as did the turnaround cream. I think you're right to recognise that you may be wasting your money though. These days the only Clinique product I buy are their lipsticks.

Unbranded / low cost skincare products are often fine. You can get reasonable facial mosituriser from pound shops; olive oil (again from the pound shop) is a great body moisturiser, Superdrug's own cleansers are great value. I always make a point of using a high factor sunblock on my face, whatever time of the year as sun damage looks horrible.

Bio-oil is one branded product I really like though, it's great as a night-time moisturiser and doesn't aggravate my skin, although I'm not sure it's the blemish wonder-treatment it claims to be.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I don't like the 3-step system but I do like their cream cleanser which is about £16 now. I also like their tinted moisturiser, foundations, eyeliners and lippies but thats about it. Blushers and mascaras I buy from No7. I also use cheaper moisturiser.

I suppose the answer to your question depends upon what your skin can stand.
Clinique or Simple are two brands on a very short list of brands I can use without a bad reaction, so, to me, it's definitely worth it! And so am I.;)

I've tried others but will be buying some 7 day scrub next time I go near a counter!! Try other stuff you can always go back to Clinique if it doesn't suit your skin!

I used to use their 3-step products when I was a teen, too, but now I find my skin won't tolerate it.

I am not really sure whether or not these premium brands are worth the money they charge, tbh. I think a lot of it might be down to the 'feel good' factor of knowing you're wearing Clinique.

Clinique skincare is awful, one of my friends used to work for them and she said she wouldn't touch it with a barge pole. I do like their make up though, not sure I've forgiven them for discontinuing the gentle light foundation however!

I am in my early forties and been using clinique since 1993. Make up and lotion and potions. All fine with me. Only thing I changed was the skin clarifying lotion from a number 2 to a number 3 when I hit 40 years of age.

Must be good as I got told on saturday I look in my thirties ( lol ).

I clinique three stepped for years, along with the foundation and the this and that.

However, I was poorly and had no energy to do it and let it slip by the wayside. I have recently started again, but gave No7 a go. I have had their new beautiful skin cleanser and exfoliator and I am really pleased with it.

I still use my Clinique moisturiser, but have managed to down brand on those two things.

Hi, I have got a sample of the No7 cleanser, usually a brand I am happy with but they have gone and put perfume in this new skincare range and I am allergic to it therefore I can't use it.

Do you use Clinique make up? I can manage on other skincare but do like their make up, I like No7 also though.

I mainly use Clinique make up. Their foundation, loose powder, blusher, eyeshadow.

Theystopped selling my fave lipstick, but I do have a dior mascara which is lush.
