to convert american sizing to Uk sizing you have to add 2 sizes onto the US size, so a US12 would be as UK16 as you go up 2 sizes so miss the 14 and it's really a 16 (hopefully that makes sense :) )
What's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..

Are you willing to say what desginger & sdtyle the dress is?
Lots of the girls on here are good at tracking down dresses on Preloved / Ebay etc.

I have looked on about a million websites for the dress including those 2 and in total found 2 dresses one in a 10 which is currently at my house but like i mentioned earlier it fits perfect my there seems to be something wrong with the material.
The second is the size 14 the main catch is i dont have any proof to show its an original not a replica or what its like at all.

The only other thing is do the ladies on here who have bought there dresses online etc feel like they have missed out the whole wedding dress experience with close family coming along to see you try it on etc?

I went dress shopping, I just didn't buy my dress from the shop. Besides my mum n sister will come to my fittings, they just won't be in a bridal shop!

    I did.

I ordered mine on Ebay and the picture showed Alfred Angelo 1136. The dress that turned up is similar but has pearls and sequins not crystals. If the picture had shown what I got I probably wouldn't have ordered it if I'm going to be honest.

My mum and Nana were there when I opened it and to be honest if they hadn't have been I would most likely would have cried as the dress was not much like the picture. Like I said it's nice and I do like it, I just don't love it.

If I did it all again I would go to a shop, try on dresses, find one I liked and look for a preloved one. I missed out on the whole coming out of the changing room and seeing their faces when I found the one I loved.

Could they send you some pictures of it via email?

I have asked for them but the dress is up for auction and ends in a few days and she cant get to the dress until monday as its at her parents.
Im just being persuaded by my mum to go for the one in the shop so i can ensure i get the great fitting one its just so much money but i guess i could sell it after the wedding and possibly get half the money back.

Don't rely on getting half of the money back. Second hand dresses don't really go for much tbh.

If you can't justify the cost why not go looking at dresses closer to your preferred budget. BHS, Monsoon, Coast, Debenhams etc...
