acceptance in principle letter

apologies if this appears to be a very silly question but, does anyone know what the AIP letter from Halifax looks like or how it is headed? Having never seen one before I'm not sure how it should/would read, and we are eager to get the information to the relevant folk

It's in the form of a letter, grey/black on white and headed "DECISION IN PRINCIPLE."

Lol. seriously though. I recently purchased a house and none of the documentation I had was considered proof of a mortgage to the estate agent. I really find these people probably the Most irritating on the planet.

If it is to get the waste of spaces to take a property off the market the only way I could convince them was to call my lender while I was there and gt verbal confirmation.

There's fare more house purchase time wasters than EA's.

More than likely this is at the vendor's request. As they decide whether to take the property off the market not the EA.

It was down to the estate agent as to which documents are considered acceptable though. I appreciate the desire for proof, but if you bring in your entire folder of documentation from your lender showing am application in progress for more than the purchase price yet the only way to convince them is to ring is rather ludicrous!

More than likely in agreement with the vendor. As their property to sell.

Too many time wasters go looking at houses.

I set out the appearance as asked, because some lenders issue an agreement in principle in certificate, rather than in letter form.
