    I know it would help if your husband had more than one customer - a bit of relief milking? That sort of thing?
    In that case he genuinely would have more than one place of work and be claiming his 45p a mile for all his journeys.

    yes he has been asked if available for one of the big agricultural shows so seems word gets about

    They have to be washed seperately anyway as they are not pleasant smelling before washing!

    Martin has posted a guide for employees claiming back expenses for washing workwear - if you use the same figures for washing your husband's workwear, I wouldn't expect that HMRC would question it (but that's just a guess on my part, I'm not an accountant!)

    Its says on there agriculture employees is £100 so do I deduct £100 or is it 20% of this figure £20?

    You would put £100 down as an expense (so his tax bill will be £20 lower than it otherwise would have been).

    Thank you I had put £100 down on expenses then worried that i had got it wrong.
