Can I pult larger watt bulbs in this?

Hi,

I really like this light, but am concerned that 4x10 watt bulbs wont provide enough light. Is that the only watt bulbs that can be used, or is that only the ones that are provided. Any advice?

Do bear in mind that they are halogen bulbs which give a lot more light than an ordinary lamp. I put bigger bulbs in a halogen lamp once and burnt out the transformer!!

Only use bulbs that it tells you to use unless the ones you want to use are LOWER wattage, NEVER go higher
    I haven't got one!

You'll need to look at it, and check the instructions. It *may* be possible to fit brighter bulbs, but the transformer rating, or heat could prevent you going above 10W. The instructions in the box, or stickers affixed to the fitting should give a clue.

Also be warned that Low Voltage bulbs are not cheap. Assuming they are G4's you could be paying £6 EACH BULB if you buy Osram branded ones on the high street. eBay et al can bring the price down to nearer £1-2 per bulb, but quality and durability may not be as good.

You could try adding a supplimental wall light or uplighter to provide additional illumination if it's needed in the room.
