Boots opticians - index of thinned lenses?

Hi

In Boots Opticians they do the following lenses for short sighted people:

Standard lenses (free)
Thin and light (£50)
Super thin (£110)
Ultra super thin (£190?)

Does anyone know what lens index each one of these levels relates to? E.g. 1.5, 1.6, 1.67 etc?

I would imagine it to be.

Standard 1.5
Thin and light 1.6
super thin 1.67
Ultra thin 1.74

Sorry, I have only just spotted your reply.

My prescription is about -4.75.

If the figures you give are correct then I'm a bit annoyed with myself. I went and ordered the £110 leneses, but I have just found the receipt for my current glasses and they have an index of 1.6 and I'm happy with the thickness of those. Hmmm, that wasn't very money saving!

it can depend on the type of frame you go for as well. I like chunky style frames which hide a lot of the 'goldfish bowl effect' so my lenses don't need to be thined as much despite my desperately myopic state!

on the plus side boots 'throw in' lots of coatings when you have lenses thinned - anti scratch, glare reducing etc
