Smoke alarm help needed

Hi folks,
I have 2 mains operated smoke alarms with battery back-up in the house but 1 of them is faulty.
They are Kidde and I searched their website but they are now obsolete.
Can I just replace it with another one of the same brand that will just connect to the old connection on the ceiling or will I need to replace the whole unit?
Any help would be appreciated

most manufacturers recommend all of them being of the same set
although most will work even if mix and matching manufacturers
it depends how much you value your safety/property really0
