                    This is the scenario:
2 children living with one parent who works full time.
One child now wants to live with the other parent who is on benefits and has never paid support.
Will the working parent now have to pay maintenance as they will have 1 child each to care for?
I've looked on the Government web site but couldn't find anything
Thank you for your help

Any idea how they will assess this as she been with him for the last 8 years and had no maintenance whatsoever and obviously he'll get nothing for the one he still has?

for one child, it's 15% of your income. Obviously, you would lose child benefit and related tax credits also.
the fact your ex has paid nothing at all for years has nothing to do with it - if he's been on benefits that's allowed.0

it's 15% of your income, with an allowance for the one child in your care. If the child has overnight stays with you this would further reduce your payments0

If the other parent is on benefits, they should pay a flat fee of £5 a week towards the child/ren that live with the other parent.0
