Help - Remortgage Query (stressed!)

Hi

Just wondering if anyone was up who would be able to answer my question as it's still 2 hours until I can phone the solicitors to find out what's going on.

The solicitors texted me yesterday to say my remortgage had completed and any monies owing to me would be transferred to my bank account.

This morning, the money has not shown up and my old mortgage provider has taken out their monthly direct debit fee. Looking at the dd list it is showing as last payment 1st March. The dd also now has cancelled next to it rather than active.

I thought that if the mortgage completed yesterday that all money owing to my building society would have been paid and that would have been that. I'm now worried that i have to pay them this month and also my new provider. Or that my new provider will wait until 1st April and then charge me two months in addition to this.

Is this right????

TIA

It might be that it was too late to cancel the direct debit and therefore you making that payment the following day was taken into account but it seems like an unlikely thing to do, same with the text from the solicitor, maybe they sent it before the money was transferred, did you ask for a BACS transfer if not it would take three days for the money to show in your account, you would have paid extra for it probably around £25.

Sorry I haven't been much help but I'm sure there is a simple explanation, don't worry.

    Hi thanks for your reply

Have just re-read the text and it says they have completed the remortgage and sent the money. I'm sure it should have been by telegraphic transfer so was expecting it the same day.

You're right, I think i am just panicking but I didn't think this should have happened if we completed yesterday.

    Thanks
