Easter Monday 9th April - What Small DFW Things Will You Do Today??
kjp
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:
Will I cross post?!
Ooh that was tense!
Morning all!
Hope you all had a thoroughly chilled Easter Sunday and that the weather's better for you than it is in my little corner of the world - chucking it down and windy, so much for walking into town later!
Today I will:
[STRIKE] Check the usual - banks, CCs, TCB[/STRIKE] £30 discrepancy between MS Money and CC... Humn. Bit of panicking for a while then until I can find out why!!!
[STRIKE] Update MS Money - can I find out why I'm poor yet?![/STRIKE] Humn, just the odd £5/£10 here and there on nothing really. Next month must stop leak in purse!
[STRIKE] Put £2 coin in savings, still got a looooong way to go until I can fill the sealed tin, can still hear the coins dropping on the base rather than other coins![/STRIKE]
[STRIKE] Out to lunch with school friends today - scattered around the country so it's quite miraculous we're all in the same place on the same day. Going for lunch, just had a nose at the menu (local pub), thinking soup of the day (£3.50) as nothing else appeals! Will aim to spend less than a tenner, and drive to make sure I don't drink[/STRIKE] Spent £3.50 on soup and £2.65 (!) on a pint of diet coke. Came home to choc cake from my bro's bday yesterday rather than buying pud there. Trying not to be jealous that my friend has just been gifted £15k house deposit...
[STRIKE] List a couple more things on Ebay maybe[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Try on some stuff out my wardrobe that I don't wear to see if I'm likely to ever again - then either donate or[/STRIKE] Ebay
Vacuum!
[STRIKE] Daily SB clicks, do some surveys whilst doing my toe nails so I'm not just wasting my time lurking on the internet![/STRIKE]
[STRIKE] Maybe... just maybe... open OU textbook? Maybe?![/STRIKE]
Have a great day all!

Good morning all,
Hope you enjoy whatever you have planned. Back to work tomorrow
so gonna suck every last drop of day off today!
* See if I can find a free downloadable budget tool (OH bought me a laptop for my birthday but have no MS Excel)
* If successful, set it up!
* Resist urge to have a lovely long bath as is grey and miserable and raining here!
* Change bed sheets and put washing on (then indoors airer
)
* Lunch from stores, leftover curry from yesterday for dinner
* Make lunch for work tomorrow
* Have a look in cupboard for meals Tues - Thurs, nothing planned, not much in there but trying to not shop, away with a friend this weekend so don't want to spend anything prior to that
* Put windscreen wash in car and clear out the various shoes, clothes, rubbish on hope of finding a forgotten £10!!
Hope you all have lovely days, and fingers crossed this rain stops!

Sunshine22, I use MS Money (Free!) but if you want an Excel-a-like, OpenOffice is supposed to be good! I've used it before a few times, was quite impressed!House Fund: £2,800/£20,000 - 14%

Spend all day on sofa eating chocolate doing washing and hanging on airer indoors. This is instead of spending the day cold and wet at an airfield watching cars. Would have preferred the cars in honesty but weather is not being a friend.Start info Dec11

I'm having an NSD
Got 1/2 a turkey crown out of the freezer (the one we got at Christmas was huge!) so we're having a turkey dinner with it. I've also got a Christmas pudding here so we may have that too!
Make plans for use of any left over turkey for dinner tomorrow, probably stir fry or risotto.
The weather is awful out and makes me want to stay in and therefore not spend.
Look on guntree for a clothes aired to save using tumble dryer.
List more things on eBay. I have an old iPhone 3G it has a broken screen but still works, mazuma want to give next to nothing for it because of the screen, so wondering whether to put it on eBay, although I'm wary because people seemed to be easily scammed over phones...Virtual Sealed Pot No.070 -
Hi all
Relatively new to the Forums couple of posts on PPI thread as hoping my PPI claim will be successful to repay 0% credit card £3500. Having another NSD (yesterday was easy NSD as shops were closed) so will do some housework instead today. Waiting for a warmer day to tackle washing but essentials hung on clothes airer.
Keeping a cash book & receipts of everything I spend mostly food shopping & petrol so far. £76 saved in £2 coins since new year. Heating barely on at 18 degrees so sat in a thick cardigan. Going to plan meals for the week with food in cupboards & fridge/freezer.
Watched Extreme Couponing today which has given me food for thought but not sure if I've got the time or the patience although did use £5 off voucher in Morrisons at the weekend. Have already balanced transferred my ISAs last week. Planning on doing car boot sale next month so will start decluttering.
Getting a bit obsessed with it all tbh but if I've got money left at the end of the month it will have been worth it.0
