We have ordered a jungle gym climbing frame for kids and want to cover the surrounding area with rubber mulch/chippings but I can't find anywhere here that I can buy from. One firm quoted £200 to deliver to NI! There must be somewhere here I can get some. I would prefer the coloured chips if possible.

I posted the following on another thread about 5 years ago, so hopefully they are still going. The mulch still looks like the day it was put down and still no weeds. That was about 8 years ago. This is obviously black but looks good.
I bought it from Equestrian rubber in Castlewellan. It was about £45 for a builders bag (1 metre square approx) and was £20 for delivery to Belfast. I bought 3 bags. Also used in gardens instead of bark. Guy said they have started using it at Greenmount. Their number is 028 43770056. They cannot gaurantee the tyre is 100% wire free and I have found the odd piece with wire in it. Quite easy to spot as it rusts.0 -
I bought from these guys last year:

It was actually made in Portglenone, Co.Antrim by a company called the PPP group I think.
Have a look on eBay, that's where I found it cheapest. It was delivered straight from the processing place.0 -
Woodstoc in Bangor may do them. They were debating them a few yrs ago when we got ours. Got in end from england. Will try and remember name of where. Portglenone place hadnt started making them yet.
We have the dark brown ones which the dye is washing out of in places and turning white but still looks great.
Hubby just said dunweedin was the company. Not that many places did them three years ago when we got ours!
We got a lot as in three x 500 kilos as the critical height of our jungle gym is v high and so worked out what depth would be needed in case kids fell but it was still less that woodchip would have been over the years and less depth than woodchip would have required.
We keep ours in the area by a frame we made with sleepers. Laid a weedfree membrane underneath which has worked brilliantly0 -
I used to work for PPP group, but they had a fire and their production stopped. Production was restarted over in the England0
