Advice for properly storing my dress

So, 10 months after the wedding, I've finally had my dress dry cleaned & worn it for probably the last time for a bridal photo shoot.I guess it's time to think about proper storage.
My dressmaker mentioned that you can either get special storage boxes or acid free tissue paper to wrap it in.
I've had a quick search on here but can't find much so I was wondering if any of you have bought anything / have any recommendations where to buy.

No advice myself but this is slightly spooky timing as I was thinking about mine today. I'm going to contact Linda (who made mine) and get her advice...if nobody else gives you the answer I'll let you know what she says

Thanks Ellay, I've seen a few things on ebay, but don't want to buy the wrong thing or something cheap & useless.

    Hi Ladies,

I've got these two sites bookmarked as I need a travel box for my dress, but they also do storage boxes & I beleive they come with the special paper you mention.

I got mine from here http://www.myweddingdressbox.co.uk/Wedding-Dress-Travel-Box it came with plenty of the acid free tissue and the box is acid free too. Mine has been stored for 5 years now and is in perfect condition.
  • This is something I've been considering this week as my dress has been cleaned. You can buy boxes on amazon (and probably other places) which are sold as specifically for storing wedding dresses, but to me they look like a very expensive card board box, so...

I already have a large cardboard box from packaging things to take to the venue and I have today bought 50 sheets of acid free white tissue paper from ebay for £2.50 delivered (you can also find then on amazon). I don't know if the box I have is "kosha" but I do know that you should always use "acid free" tissue paper for storing.

The only thing I'm not sure about is keeping moths out. Any ideas?

I bought this one and am really pleased with it:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B006NE77YO/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00

It's very spacious and made out of a breathable fabric. It came with lots of acid-free paper, which I lined the box with and then wrapped up the dress and veil. It's now under my mum's bed. It's best to store a wedding dress flat so that there are no stresses on the seams, and get it out once a year to insepct it (and try it on and make yourself depressed!)

I bought a special breathable dress box with acid free tissue and wrapped my dress up in that. It's on top of my wardbrobe at the minute because you aren;t supposed to keep them in places where the temp changes dramatically, such as a loft.

I bought a box and acid free tissue paper on ebay. Then i went on youtube and found how to fold and place it in the box correctly. I would never have worked out you need a piece of paper in basically every fold. You also need to line the box with the paper and then over the dress when your done folding it right.
