Something is certainly not right that nothng sugested is filling you up
This is the classic response from an overweight person in denial.

What many of you will have missed were the downright abusive posts the OP made on 12th April (now deleted by the BGs), when it was initially pointed out that their attitude was unhelpful. If they can't take advice from their GP, there is no hope.

OP - if you are overweight, skip lunch and take a one hour walk instead. You will feel hungry for the first 3 days, but then you'll find your appetite automatically diminishes. Problem solved.

2.5 kg of potatoes in lidl yesterday was 88p. most of the bag big enough for baking for lunch, about 8 big with 3 small ones at a guess.
• In denial of what? I'm overweight, I said so. How is that denying it?

It's funny how people can claim other people are 'downright abusive', yet be unaware of the hypocrisy involved.

Lidl may have cheap potatoes (and they may be cheap for a very good reason!), but I don't live near Lidl. Even if I did I'd be very hesitant to shop there for the reason's I've alredy mentioned.

Skipping meals is dreadful advice. Especially for someone that has metabolic issues. I'm staggered that the moderators allow such appalling things to be post.

Luckily for you, very few actually saw what you wrote.

Not for someone who is overweight and claims to eat porridge for breakfast. You're only overweight because your calorific intake has exceeded your output, there's plenty in reserve to keep you going.

I seriously doubt this to be more than a figment of your imagination. There are many serious metabolic syndromes, all of which require medical supervision. If you genuinely had one, you would have been given different advice from your GP and a referral.

Metabolic syndrome X is different, but can be managed by cutting down on your carbohydrate intake. No doubt you'll find a reason to dismiss this advice to, but hey you're only fooling yourself.

Maybe go somewhere else for advise then? You have rejected every answer that has been given to you, and you have not been...very gracious to those that took the time to reply.

Er, with respect you admit to being overweight and yet claim to know what is and isnt healthy. Healthy is different from low fat. You need to move more and eat less and stop making excuses.

You are going to feel hungry when you start to reduce the calories for a while. It is just a period of readjustment.

What kind of things do you currently eat and how much do you spend on food a week? That will give an indication of how to break down the meals.

Like I posted before, Baked Beans are the answer. They get anyone moving. :rotfl:

I 'claim' to eat porridge for breakfast? Paranoid much? Do you come across many people that lie about being over weight as opposed to being otherwise?

I won't be taking medical advice from you, not even given your unique ability at diagnosing people by way of reading their posts. The NHS must be paying a lot for someone of your talent.

Are you seriously suggesting that it's impossible for someone to know what's healthy and be overweight? What excuses have i made? How much do you think I eat and how much movement do you think i do? Please show evidence of your work. You;ll also note that I didn't post asking for advice on weight loss either.

As a regular poster on MSE you should know that we don't have moderators. We do however have a forum team so I'm going to close this thread and refer it to them.

If you ever have a problem with a post that you feel is abusive you should report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com
