Mis Sold Endowment...Need Help

We are trying to do the letter re our endowment (with profits) with Standard Life. Like everyone else we thought it was going to pay out a sum of £30k but unlike others it is no longer necessary to pay the mortgage. We have just kept it going as an investment.

Problem comes with filling out forms. We have no idea who sold us the policy back in 1987 so doe this mean we don't have a claim?

Please help

Ask standard life who sold it. They can give you the name and address of the advising firm.

As it was 1987 and pre-regulation, you will only be able to complain if it was sold through a standard life representative or at a bank/building society.

1986 is pre regulation. So, if the advising firm doesnt want to consider it, then that is the end of the road.

Applications after 29th April 1988 give you FOS protection. Before that you have none.
