How to strengthen nail for male guitarist?

Hi

Just wondering if anyone had any tips on how to strengthen a nail that is being worn away by long hours of guitar playing? So far Hubby has tried Sally Hanson Hard as nails - but this is shiny and has a rubbery surface that he can feel on the guitar strings, any suggestions really appreciated.

Nail Envy Matte - its the only matte finish strenthener i can think off?

Its a very thin watery polish and will soak in with no residue.

Only downside is bought individually its espensive.

You can get thumb picks - various styles and sizes so might take some hunting to find one that suits.

Alternatively, some professionals use false nails (not lacquered unless desired LOL)

I second the matt nail envy, can get duo packs from qvc with a normal and matt that works out just a little more expensive than buying one on its own.

Best nail strengthener I know of which isn't all that bad for men either as its thin and doesnt leave an overt shine to nails is Trind Nail Repair in Natural - can be bought from Amazon etc. I got mine in a beauty box last year and despite being a Nail Envy fan have definitely converted as I just find it so much better. Its also slightly cheaper than Nail Envy. Just checked their website for you and they are also now doing a matt version - bonus for fellas out there! See http://www.trind.com
