I have a Miele washer dryer and it is fabulous! Highly recommend them.

It's full parts, labour and callout.

Get it from John Lewis as they also have £100 off the W3204, W5780 and W5846.

I have a miele that we got 3 years ago because of the 10 year warranty. seriously unimpressed that after paying £900 for a washing machine we still have to pay £200 to have the door seal repaired. Just be aware that "normal wear and tear" apparently isn't covered and the repairs to maintain the warranty have to be done by themselves (or a local repair man they approve) and they are NOT cheap.
Just wanted to make people aware.

That's bad, my Siemens got a new door seal after four years as part of a ten year guarantee.

We got a Miele washing machine with a 10 year guarantee 6 years ago. Have had the miele engineer out about 4 times but never been charged. 3 times it's been for a blocked filter which I couldn't get out. The last time it needed a hose replaced as was blocked with grease?? Never had to pay for any of the repairs and would recommend them. The last time I called them out they came the next again day.
So little money - so much time

If your having problems with grease then you need to every now and then clean your washing machine out. Low washers and not enough washing powder/liquid can cause grease build up. You can clean washing machine using hottest wash and white vinegar or you can get washing machine cleaners around £1 or less at home bargains thats where I got mine from. I had problems with my pump and got anew one but I asked engineer about washing machines and he said its common problem to get them filled up with muck/grease and other things like bra straps

Washing liquids are notorious for this, as are 'eco' washes and the fad for low temperatures. To shift the grease you need to do a properly hot wash regularly.

Worrying that Miele consider three years 'fair wear and tear' for a door seal! My 11 year old Bosch is still on its first! I was considering a Miele for when the Bosch goes to Valhalla but I might think again now.

I just wanted to make people aware because I was pretty horrified to be honest. I've never had a door seal go on a machine before and then to find it was £86 for the door seal and then another £111 for them to come and repair it, it's fair to say I was gutted. I'd have bought a cheap washing maching if I'd known. I even told them I could just about cope with having to pay for the door seal myself but I begrudge paying the callout fee aswell. Infact it's now leaking lots and I still can't afford to have it repaired yet!
