  • Hi All

I have had a busy old day today so I have not had time to do a proper update. I am also hampered by the fact that the back space key on my work PC seems to be kn*****ed – it keeps sticking and I keep forgetting (well I just hit it automatically!) so I keep losing everything that I have just typed! I think I shall have to put a bit red sticker or something on it! This is already about my 3rd or 4th attempt to type this!

For this reason I think I will do a proper update when I get home.

    Bye all!

  • Hi All

Thank crunchie it’s Friday! I am soooooo tired!

The keyboard fairy visited my office after I left last night and has replaced my keyboard, so I no longer have to endure the kn*****ed backspace key – hooray! So normal service is resumed.

Today someone else is leaving which means that we have free cakes again. It is the tradition here to bring in cakes (a) when it is your birthday (b) when you leave. Oh, and everyone brings sweets back when they have been on holiday.

This also means that we are going out for lunch again today – only to Frankie and Benny’s. Their lunchtime menu is really good value for money – last time we had main course and pudding, plus soft drink and refill, for only £9 each! It doesn’t happen very often so I can manage that (especially as I have stopped contributing to collections – bah humbug! – I only ever sign the card nowadays).

Not much else is new I’m afraid. Played the free bingo again last night, won nothing again (except the 50p I won on one of the other games). The other night I had a good look through free fivers and did a few of the cashback offers on there. I think I will have another look tonight and include some of those on my daily clicks schedule. I am going to try and investigate one new cashback site every few days rather than try to do lots all in one day.

OH very kindly put my Avon books out for me yesterday so all I had to do in the evening was to do some more of my deliveries. I have nearly got rid of them all now – one more to do tomorrow and just one more left to do at work. I have forgotten to phone my work customer again so I shall have to deliver that one on Monday (I must remember to phone her on Sunday!).

I have left OH 2 jobs to do for me today – my repeat prescription request needs taking to the doctors (I have run out of hayfever tablets but still need them because I am sneezing, streaming and itching!) and we had a note through the door the other day about a parcel that needs collecting from the sorting office ( have a couple of freebies coming so I suppose it is one of them).

I think that is all the news for now. I will do a to-do list for today in a separate post.

    Bye for now!

    · Do some washing

As it’s Friday I don’t intend to do much more than that!

  • Hi All

I haven't done much today because I have been feeling a bit rough - sicky, headachy, itchy (got some hayfever tablets today), croaky, achy and completely exhausted!

Did some Avon today and that's about all!

Had to pay some money into my bank account today. OH decided to tell me that he will not have enough cash to pay the Halifax bill on Monday - grrrrrrr!!!!! So I had to gather up as much as could to pay in so that I can pay it. To be fair OH did give me half the cash needed for the bill and will give me the other half on Friday.

Back to watching the Last Night of the Proms now.

    Byyyyeeeee!

Not for much longer if he carries on like this!

That's an idea, but I have no idea (and nor has he) when it is likely to arrive.

  • Hi All

I am feeling deeply, deeply fed up today. I need to have serious words with OH (again!). I love him but I just can’t cope. I feel like saying to him ‘get a grip or get out’, but of course I won’t. I think he seriously needs to understand the seriousness of the situation. I am completely exhausted and not a little depressed – I spent a large part of yesterday in tears (OH was in London all day yesterday). Not only am I getting very little financial input from him (the latest saga over the Halifax bill is a case in point) but I get absolutely no help at all with running the household. I seem to be doing absolutely everything and he is doing nothing.

I haven’t slept well all weekend and I have virtually no voice (I tend to lose my voice when I’m stressed). I have hardly done a thing all weekend – just what I needed to do. Also my asthma seems to be playing up as well, but I think that is because I am stressed.

On Saturday night I took myself off to bed earlier than I planned to because I wasn’t feeling well (my asthma and hayfever were playing up and I felt quite short of breath) and as I went upstairs I said to OH ‘don’t forget to lock up will you’, because I would normally lock both the front and back door before going to bed (because otherwise it wouldn’t get done). On Sunday morning I was up at the crack of dawn to make OH his flask of coffee to take with him to London (because otherwise he wouldn’t bother doing it) and I discovered that the front door was unlocked. I’m sorry but it drives me bl**dy mad!!!

I am seriously considering going on strike – refusing to cook him meals and do his washing for him (he hasn’t a clue how to use the washing machine and all the words and numbers are rubbed off anyway, so this would be a real challenge!). But first I will sit him down (again), read him the riot act (again) and threaten him with the consequences if he doesn’t buck his ideas up (again).

I have left him a number of things attached to the fridge that I want him to do today, so we will see if he actually manages to get any of them done.

Sorry for the gloomy post! Bye all!
