In a previous lifetime, I was a lawyer, and it is common practice for lawyers to "time record" - we had a sheet and had to account for every unit of the working day.......a unit is "6 minutes or part thereof".....
......If we had less than 55 billable units in the day, we had to explain why! Certainly focuses the mind as to what you are doing.....Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Hi All
OH has just phoned me to tell me that the Very Important Job that I have been nagging him to do for ages (i.e. years!) he has finally done! I left him a note on the fridge with a list of the things I wanted him to do today and this job was on it. It is the start of what will be a long process but it is a very important first step. He said that he felt like a huge weight had lifted off his shoulders (which is what I have been trying to tell him!) and you know what, I feel the same!
As you may have realised I can’t really be too specific about what I am talking about! Let’s just say that it is a very important step in OH finally getting his finances sorted out.
Feeling sooooo much better now! Bye all!PigginSkint's debt free diary

Exactly what I was thinking! If he actually thinks about how he uses his time (and he sees how I use mine) then it might actually focus his mind on using his time more productively.PigginSkint's debt free diary

Yay at getting OH to do his VIJ. Did it involve the use of a spoon at any point in time? Don't forget to sneak new ones on there, like retile the roof, retile everyone else's roof and take out the rubbish. This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Thanks Obi! You do make me laugh!
No a spoon wasn't required, strangely enough! Just lots of nagging and some serious talks about the dire consequences if he didn't get his act together and do it (see previous reference to the sofa)!
I'll start on the DIY jobs when he has done all the finance/debt related ones. Mind you, some of those DIY jobs have been done recently (e.g. putting blinds up) - nothing like a bit of DIY when you trying to put off something really nasty that needs doing!PigginSkint's debt free diary
