    Hi All

Today I have had my first payout from free scratch cards - £10. I can use that for a bigger than normal Payment a Day tomorrow. :j

I have had a real result today from phoning Southern Electric about my gas bill - gave them my correct meter reading and my amount in credit is even larger than I thought it was, now over £400. I just wanted them to reduce my monthly DD amount (which they have done) but without me even asking they offered to pay me back the amount they owe me! They asked me how much of it I wanted - all of it please! That will be a nice big chunk for debt-busting when it comes through! :j:j:j:j:j

In other news, DS managed to wreck my dyson yesterday. He had to do some hoovering because my elbow is still very painful. He managed to suck a sock up which got well and truly stuck. In his efforts to get it out he managed to split the tube. Not best pleased! Tried to mend it with some gaffa tape but it is in a bit of an awkward place. According to my Dad today, it apparently just clips in so I will have to have a closer look. It's a good job we are a 3 hoover household really!

I spent the afternoon at my Dad's today, as my cousin, his partner and daughter were visiting. We don't get to see them very often so it was nice to see them again - the daughter and my DS are only 18months apart in age and have always got on very well.

I think that is all the news for now!

    Bye all!

Hi, I'm looking to buy the new Dyson, the one which is being advertised on the TV with the ball at the front, which is easier to manouver than the standard fixed flat hoover. I must say it looks superb, but want to know that it does what it says.

You can buy the pipes on Ebay (I bought one last week)

The ball Dyson has a tiny collection tub - I thought the ones in the shop where reduced size just top show you but no they are not so if you have to empty the bag often might not be for you ?

Thanks dawnybabes, think I'd better go and take a look. I think Dyson are a good brand and worth spending the money, if they are going to do the job in hand. (pardon the pun).

Yes my Dad said something about unclipping the hose - I will have to have a closer look!

    Hi Jsoo2 (and thanks dawnybabes)

I have got a DC01 - the first model - and apart from these little annoyances it is still going strong! It is now nearly 12 years old!

Dyson's customer service and technical support is excellent though in the past my Dad has agreed to my request to have my dyson fixed as a Christmas present - last time was a few years ago and it had quite a few new parts for not very much money (not that it cost me anything anyway!)

So, in short, dysons are well worth the money! The first time I did my son's room with it, I filled it!

    In other news.....

The internet connection has been playing up again - I only seem to be able to get on in the evenings at the moment. Hope it sorts itself out soon! Oh well, once I am back at work next week I will only be going on in the evenings anyway.

Took DS to the doctors this morning - hayfever tablets and eyedrops, 2 lots of eczema cream, and checked out why he is been getting pains in his ankles. As I suspected, just growing pains - he is growing like a weed!

While I was there I asked him very nicely for a prescription for more migraine tablets - had to take one last night which meant I only had one left. Also asked him to refer me to the podiatrist again because my insole is starting to fall apart.

Had to go back again to the doctors this afternoon but I am not going to go into detail about what that was for (that really would be TMI) - let's just say it was a ladies appointment, one we have every 3 years! ;)

OH is coming home for the weekend! :j He arrives tomorrow lunchtime and will be going back Sunday afternoon. So I don't know how much time I will spend on here over the weekend! ;)

I think that is all the news for now - bye all!
