Sudden & new allergies??

I developed an allergy to the sun about 4/5 years ago!
Your rash sounds exactly what I get, and it is mainly on my chest.
Have you been sunbathing in the past few days perhaps (I know it hasnt been brilliant but you never know)
I wish, but I haven't been able to enjoy the good weather as I've been inside studying (or inside working!)
I'm not convinced it's shower gel or shampoo because they were my first thoughts, since they all ran out about the same time so have started using new ones recently... but a swap didn't help there.
The mixture of meds and different washing powder seem to be helping for now (although the meds could potentially distort any change / not from the powder)
Hopefully the GP can help in a couple of days... and hopefully they're nicer than the reception staff there!!You were only killing time and it'll kill you right back0 -
Echo the others, yes is it entirely possible to develop an allergy at any point in your life, but you are doing the right thing in checking it with your GP.
I am allergic to biological washing powder, but since I switched to non-bio, I have been fine, so that is definitely a good starting point
Good luck! 0 -
Even if the washing powder is one you have used before without problems, it's not uncommon for the manufacturers to change the "recipe".Norn Iron Club member 4730

Doesn't sound like good news - although I do literally mean "same washing powder, from the same box"
And we've still got a few kilos of the stuff left  You were only killing time and it'll kill you right back0 -
That sounds like the rash I got last year when on holiday, no idea why or how but it drove me crazy, lucky for me were abroad and I got a tube of creme over the counter from a chemist.
Just a thought but could it be from sweating/over heating.
Agree with checking with your doctor before spending good money if not needed.
Yes you can suddenly develop allergies, happens all the time, as others have said about the washing powder, just use half the amount, you won't notice a difference and it will rinse better.
Good luck.

Has anything else changed? Are you taking or changed any medication? I developed allergies after my first son was born, presumably down to the hormonal changes. And my friend gets rashes when she's stressed - they started when she was at uni. You said you're studying so if you're under exam pressure that may make things worse0
