First Direct mortgage application proof of ID

I have applied for and been verbally offered a First Direct mortgage (woohoo!) On the phone I was given a list of ID details they would need:

3 most recent bank statements
3 most recent payslips
P60
2 other forms of ID (i.e. utility bills, driving license)

As I expected the application pack would spell out exactly what was required in full detail I didn't note everything the lady said when on the phone. Now the pack is here it doesn't go into great depth. I recall being told only one online form of statement could be used, but I'm not entirely sure.

My bank statements are online only (Santander) and so are my work payslips so now I'm not sure if they will accept printouts. I've looked at my online Santander account and cannot find a way to order paper versions. Can I use their watermarked PDF statements?

Has anyone gone through this recently with First Direct and can help me clarify exactly what I need?

Thanks.

Ive never dealt with FD however most lenders will accept online banking statements.
FD themselves are an online bank so they should be ok with it.

Payslips i think are a bit more iffy but i think you should still be ok with them.

I think you'll be fine. I've used online payslips for a lot of procedures (mortgages, visas etc) and never had a problem with them.

If you have access to headed paper, try printing it on there if possible. If they have an issue with it, they will tell you, and then you can both your employer + Santander to certify any online paperwork

I think it will be fine!

    Good luck!
  • I went through FD for my mortgage.. honestly just ring them up and ask

We needed a letter from the bank with our address for a mortgage (not First Direct). We got the local branch to print out a customer screen with our address and then it got stamped with the branch stamp and I think signed by the assistant manager or whoever, and that was accepted no problem.

Have just had my mortgage offer from First Direct. I printed my online bank statements, and also my payslips, did get my payslips stamped by work, and they were fine with that.
Mortgage offer was with me very quickly after sending everything in.

Payslips aren't a form of ID. However they may well be required to process your application.
