Payplan DMP - MBNA declined offer

Hi all

Just found out that MBNA have declined my DMP offer ... does anyone know what happens now? Everyone else has accepted.

Also I've just received a letter from them the other day (before the declined offer) saying that they're putting interest up on the cc to 20% !!!! I can't quite believe that!

Anyhow, I presume that they will now sell the debt on to a collection agency .... do we just give them the offer and hope that they accept it?? Anyone know hwere it goes from here??

Thanks

I'm on a dmp with cccs and GE money have declined my reduced payment offer. CCCS just keep sending it to them anyway. MBNA will prob pass your debt over but that will be in your best interest because all intrerest is stopped and it is very unlikely that a dmc will refuse your payment.

Just keep paying payplan and good luck :D
  • MBNA declined my offer with CCCS too. They sold the debts on to debt collection agencies - Link financial and 1st Credit.

Both have stopped interest and charges and are accepting my £5 per month to each of them. I had one phone call from both of these companies asking me to confirm my situation. I explained things and they said ok, we will continue your DMP with CCCS. Hopefully my situation will improve once I get a permanent job.

To be honest, I felt relieved once the debts were sold on. It meant the end of the numerous letters and phone calls from MBNA. It is lovely not to dread answering the phone.

    Good luck

The first payment only went out to them a few days ago so we're just waiting to hear back.

Bank of Scotland are stalking my husband though with an automatic dialer thing that keeps cutting him off if he tries to take the call. It calls his mobile first and then the home phone. If it doesn't stop in a few days we'll write to them.

Payplan have really annoyed me though as we hadn't got all our direct debits moved from our old account (Lloyds) so our money wasn't completely safe and Payplan said they'd wait until I told them it was sorted until they contacted Lloyds about the dmp, but they just went ahead and did so anyway.

Just let Payplan know. It could be (probably) stalling tactics. Try not to worry too much about it.

  • Oh dear. I've no idea what this means. I'm in a panic in case any of my creditors refuse offers. Hope you get something sorted.
