I have been reading all the posts for about 18 months now and thought it was about time I thanked all of you for the advice and help you have given me (and I'm sure thousands of others).
I was up to £26k of debt and was in such a state of panic. Just by following advice, cutting my spending, bringing in lunch etc I have managed to get this down to £18k. I now feel it is under control and using every spare penny I have to pay off the debts. I've learned to live well within my means and and have learnt to do without all the luxuries I used to buy but didn't need!
You are all an inspiration!

Well done you. £8k is a massive amount to have cleared.
Its always good to hear positive stories, and nice to hear that even people who lurk but don't post are able to benefit from other people's experiences.
And welcome to posting and out of lurkdom!A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

I have felt so much happier now I am dealing with the debt rather than burying my head in the sand like I used to. It is like a weight has been lifted!
