But surely the two are somewhat related - if you think that the price of property is going to soar/ not fall etc and you can find a way to buy as an 'investment' then its a no-brainer? Either could come first though (the belief or the investment)...0 -

You'd think so. But it's not the case.
We have a few on the forum with the means to invest, who don't. It seems, the vast majority of those serial believers of increased prices are those already invested.
This isn't a generalisation, not until it's disproven anyway. I can only name one who isn't a landlord, though is of sorts, and keeps telling us he has the cash to invest and it's the best investment, but won't invest.
On the other hand, I can think of a few homeowners who believe prices are too high. The difference being they see a property as just that, a home.
I don't actually think we have that many renters who want to buy. I.e. the FTB priced out.0 -

i don't own any properties, let alone an investment property, and i'm pretty sure that property is going to keep going up from here, in london at least.
the only reason i haven't got an investment property is that i really just cannot be bothered. whenever i feel like taking on a bit of risk i just print out a list of all the small cap oil stocks and throw a dart at it. it works very well from a risk perspective, because i always lose money.0 -

I've been described on here as an 'uber bull'. I have no properties other than my home.0 -
I've been described as a bull. Not really sure why as I have no BTL and never will.
It's probably because I don't think property values are going to crash. Although of course what I think or say on here makes no difference in the real world so who cares?0 -

Would it be anything to do with the fact that both yourself and Renoman paid top buck for your properties?0 -

I wouldn't class you as someone uber bullish on house prices. Just someone who wants rates to stay low for as long as possible as you have taken a gamble with your home.
My point has been made though. No one can put any uber bull forward who isn't using property as an investment vehicle.0
